We have been fortunate to have many long- term employees. A.V. Dedmon Trucking, Inc. is proud of its local roots and continues to be honored to serve the people of Cleveland County.

Safety has always been a top priority of this company, and many of our current and former drivers have received safe driving awards throughout the years.

In 2000, Lora Dedmon joined her father Charles in the business and serves as Vice President.

During the early 80’s through the early 2000’s, A. V. Dedmon Trucking, Inc. hauled new furniture to points throughout the country, forming strong bonds with Drexel Heritage, Broyhill and Bernhardt Furnishings.

After ICC Deregulation in 1984, the business expanded its operations into the Southeast and to the West Coast. Wayne Howell and Gus Catlin ran the first trip to California.

In 1983, a law was passed allowing double trailers on interstate highways. Charles and Joe Dedmon were the first in North Carolina to use double trailers.  So quick, in fact, that they were…
